Awesome E-Session

I had a great e-session this past week among the crush of senior portraits I've been doing. I've been implementing some of the things I've been doing with seniors with other types of sessions, including weddings and e-sessions. I am a member of SPA (Senior Portrait Artists) which is a great source of inspiration that I can apply to every aspect of my photography, not just seniors.

Stephanie and Jason

Michal-Katherine and I just got back from the wedding of Stephanie and Jason at Belhurst Castle. I think we broke the string of thunderstorms. All three weddings this weekend turned out to be spectacular with the weather. Stephanie and Jason had a beautiful, sun filled ceremony on the lawn of Belhurst. Stephanie's dress was a really cool pinkish color and she had a matching parasol. Carmen and the crew at Belhurst were awesome as usual, as was my good friend Joe from Q Music Productions.

The Fox and The Grapes

I shot a beautiful, intimate wedding today with Karen at The Fox and The Grapes Bed and Breakfast in Lodi on Seneca Lake. Clovis and Sarah had around 40 guests who shared in their outdoor ceremony over looking the lake. It was a nice change of pace from the pomp and circumstance of a more traditional wedding at the bigger venues. Jim, the owner of the B&B, performed the ceremony and was an excellent host. Clovis and Sarah were so relaxed and easy going. It was an absolute pleasure to spend the day with them.

Becky and Shawn

It was back to Belhurst today with Amanda for the wedding of Becky and Shawn. Once again I have to say, what a great couple. I have the greatest job in the world to associate with such amazing people on the happiest day of their lives. It's such a pleasure to stand next to the bride and groom as they watch the slideshow that we present at the reception and just watch their reaction. It is pure job satisfaction. I don't have a job though. How could playing for a living be a job?

The Rainbow

I have seen so many rainbows this year that it only seems fitting that one of my images is on the cover of the summer issue of "The Rainbow", a quarterly magazine from Burrell Colour Labs that goes out to around 7000 photographers across the nation. The center spread of the magazine is a profile of my studio which can be read below by clicking on the image for a larger view. I want to thank Troxel Green from Burrell for his support of me and my work and opening the door to new opportunities for me such as the speaking program I am presenting in Milwaukee on September 8th to the South East Wisconsin Professional Photographer's of America.

Patrick and Dawn

Amanda and I shot the wedding of Patrick and Dawn today, along with Amanda's husband Mark who was doing the videography. I've been swamped this weekend so I didn't even realize until tonight that we made it through the first two weddings without a thunderstorm. Today was a different story with not only lightning lighting up the night sky, but a fireworks display to surprise the wedding guests as well. The fireworks were set off by Young Explosives from beyond the vineyard at Ventosa Vineyard.

Jessica and Nathan

Mariah and I photographed the wedding of Jessica and Nathan today. They are both scientists at Yale. Hopefully great things are in their future, like a cure for cancer. We had a perfect day today, again at the Inn on the Lake, only this time we were in the tent instead of the ball room. During the preceremony photos, we ran in to Ty Pennington who graciously allowed us to take a photo with Jessica. He was on his way to get on a boat to head out on to Canandaigua Lake but gave us a few moments of his time anyway. I can only imagine what it must be like to not be able to walk anywhere without people asking for photos and autographs with every step. However, how can he not smile when just by his presence, he can make a group of eight women dressed to the nines scream like little girls.
